After Betsey Johnson I went to work as Head Designer for Heatherette. I had been part of the club kid world in the early-mid 90's that Richie had also belonged and it was nice to be working along side him.
The line was started by Richie Rich and Traver Rains as a tee shirt line out of their apartment. They soon after got a studio space on E 7th street in NYC's East Village and started designing for clients. That lead to producing runway shows of their collections with a featured celebrity walking the show.
After some success, they found backing to actually produce their line for the masses and I was hired at that point to put together the team, structure and get the first produce-able line made.
We moved to the Empire State Building and with a team of only 7, we created 3 full collections which all showed at NY Fashion Week. We started to get media buzz not just as a cool kid line but as a real competitor in the designer space.
We launched the collection exclusively at Henri Bendels and had a party Heatherette style to celebrate.
All items in the show/line were designed by myself, Mack Dugan, Richie and Traver. Mainly all shown in this gallery are the one's Mack and I were responsible for creating. I also designed prints, graphics, programs, invites, logo/branding and accessories.
